Flick-n-Float Movie Night is finally here!
Bring a small float or beach chair to the Lodge pool for the Flick-n-Float Family Movie Night tomorrow, July 16, at the Lodge pool. It will begin at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.) and is free for members of the Association and their guests. Snacks will be available for pur- chase at the pool snack bar.
Parents need to accompany their chil- dren, unless child is over the age of 14 and has a POA card. For safety reasons, there is a maximum capacity limit; so be sure to arrive early. The next one won’t be until August 13. For more informa- tion, call the Activities Department at 951-244-6841 ext. 610.
Taco Tuesday
Only three Taco Tuesdays remain on the schedule this summer, with the pop- ular weekly event held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday through August 2. Buffet lines set up in the lower level of the Lodge offering tacos, enchiladas, to- stada salads, hot dogs, hamburgers and pulled pork sandwiches, plus sides. The indoor and portable bars also are open. Guests can purchase refillable Taco Tuesday logo cups for $14 with margar- ita and $4 for refills.
The snack bar has Hawaiian Shave Ice with a dozen popular flavors, along with cotton candy, popcorn and caramel
mocha Frappuccinos. The snack bar also sells wristbands ($3) for children to use the jumper slide.
Good Time Entertainment DJ Mike Shroyer provides music each week, along with his popular dance-along con- tests, trivia contests and other games. A golf cart shuttle picks up and drops off on the Lighthouse/Canyon Club loop and at the Lodge entry.
Pumptrack Demo is Today
Everyone with a bike, skateboard or scooter is invited to East Port Park today, July 15, from 3 to 6 p.m. for a Pump- track Demo Tour Day hosted by Ameri- can Ramp Company. Use of the modular pump track is free, but parents must be there to sign a waiver for children under the age of 18. It was announced at Tues- day’s POA Board meeting that ARC will make riding equipment and helmets available for children’s use during the demo. A snack bar also will be set up with cold drinks and snacks.
Family Movie Nights
Enjoy the next Family Movie Night on August 5 at Holiday Harbor. The movie is free; everyone is invited to bring their own chair or blanket to sit on the slope, along with their own food and beverages. Snacks sometimes are avail-
able for purchase at the snack bar. Other Movie Nights are scheduled for August 19 and September 9. They are free and most movies are rated PG.
Suzy Bogguss Concert
Grammy-winning singer Suzy Bog- guss is coming to Canyon Lake on Sat- urday, July 30, at 7 p.m. for a private concert at the Lodge. VIP tickets are $55 per person and includes a private entrance with preferred seating closest to the stage and exclusive VIP bar ac- cess. General Admission tickets are $30. Tickets are available online at www. canyonlakepoa.com. Tickets can also be purchased (credit/debit card transactions only) at the Member Service office.
Learn-to-Ride Day
A Learn-to Ride-Day is scheduled for July 24 in the North Ski Area, hosted by the Wakeboard Club. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Ski Pavilion. All ages are invited to learn how to wake- board, or to improve their skills. For more information, visit www.canyon- lakewake.com.
Pedal Paddle Regatta
The Pedal Paddle Regatta, hosted by the Fitness and Triathlon Club, will cruise the East Bay on August 6, start-
ing at 10 a.m. at Indian Beach. Every- one with a paddle board, kayak, canoe or pedal boat is welcome. After the paddle, guests are welcome to stay for a burger barbecue for $5 per person.
Kids Fishing Derby
The 30th annual Kids Fishing Derby, hosted by the Canyon Lake Bassmas- ters for Canyon Lake residents and their guests, ages 5 to 15, will be held August 13. Fishing guidelines can be found with the registration forms, which will be available at the Member Services office closer to the event.
Mermaid Festival
The 2nd annual Mermaid Festival will be held at Indian Beach on Satur- day, August 27. The Woman’s Club in- vites all mermaids, mermen, pirates and people who love the sea. The day will include vendors, mermaid and pirate- themed activities and the Cardboard Boat Challenge.
Neon Glow Party
An after-dark Neon Glow Party is scheduled for September 24, at 6 p.m., sponsored by the Family Matters Club. Activities include a glow maze, photo booth, shirt-making, face-painting and food sales to light up the night.
