Sunset Beach getting new playground in July
Sunset Beach is getting a new “nature” themed playground. At the Association’s May 3 Regular Session Board Meeting, the Board approved re- placing the outdated equipment at the park.
According to the Association, the new play- ground is part of “Kids Tale’s Natural Landscape” series that combines the adventure and exploration of nature with the durability and low maintenance of high-quality play equipment. There will be a large playground structure with slides, climbing structures and other activities designed for children ages 5 to 12. A smaller structure will be for children ages 2 to 5. Between the two structures, there will be a matching swing set.
The existing shade structures at the park will re- main in place; the mulch and sand currently in use for playground surface will be upgraded with new rubberized surfacing. The old equipment was re- moved July 5. The project has a three- to four-week estimated timeline. During construction, residents are asked to follow all posted signs and avoid the playground area.
