• The Canyon Lake Bassmasters are hosting the 30th annual Kids Fishing Derby for Canyon Lake residents and their guests, ages 5 to 15, on August 13. Fishing guidelines can be found with the registration forms, which will be avail- able at the Member Services office clos- er to the event.
• The Woman’s Club invites all mer- maids, mermen, pirates and people who love the sea to come down to Indian Beach on August 27 for the 2nd annual Mermaid Festival. The day will include vendors, mermaid and pirate-themed ac- tivities and a cardboard boat race.
• The Family Matters Club invites everyone to come out for its after-dark neon glow Cosmic Carnival on Sep- tember 24, starting at 6 p.m. Activities include a glow maze, photo booth, shirt- making, face-painting and food sales to light up the night.
Youth Classes and Camps
• Starting June 13, weekly swim les- sons are offered at the pool for children of all ages and levels. Mommy and Me Water Class and Water Polo also will be offered. Check the pool calendar or visit canyonlakepoa.com for details.
• The Kids Summer Tennis Program starts June 7, taught by Tennis Pros Baba Soysa and Anthony Chatfield. One-hour group sessions will run twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (eight lessons) for $100. To sign up, contact Marga Kidd at mikesmarga@verizon. net or 951-442-4538.
• The Canyon Lake Junior Golf Camp will be held July 11 to 15, hosted by the Golf Pro Shop staff and Family Golf Club. the fee per junior golfer is $35.
