Ready for tacos and other summer fun?
The crowd that loved Fiesta Day is ready to welcome Taco Tuesday, which begins next Tuesday, June 7, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lodge and Sunset Beach. The weekly gathering gives residents a chance to pick up a bite to eat while en- joying views of the lake, meeting their neighbors and letting children burn off energy at the bounce zone, playground, dance contests and games.
The first three weeks will have a dif- ferent theme based on the eras of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. The fourth week will have a beach/island theme.
Buffet lines will be set up in the lower level of the Lodge offering tacos, enchiladas, tostada salads, hot dogs, hamburgers and pulled pork sandwich- es, plus sides. The indoor and outdoor bars also will be operating. Guests can purchase refillable Taco Tuesday logo cups for $14 with margarita and $4 for refills.
Roanne Grasso of ABC Bounce says the snack bar will be bringing back Ha- waiian Shave Ice with a dozen popular
flavors, along with cotton candy, pop- corn and caramel mocha Frappuccinos. The snack bar also will sell wristbands ($3) for children to use the jumper slide.
Good Time Entertainment DJ Mike Shroyer will provide music each week, along with dance-along contests, trivia contests and other games. ShowCal Ski- ers will offer ski shows on select weeks. The first one will be on June 21.
Taco Tuesday can get very busy and parking can be tough to find in the first few weeks. However, to help those who have to park farther away, the As- sociation plans to once again offer the golf cart shuttle service that will loop around Canyon Club and Lighthouse Drives. Next week, in particular, will be busy with the POA Board meeting starting at 7 p.m. inside the Holiday Bay Room.
Taco Tuesday will end on August 2 this summer. Organizers say school starts the next week and attendance normally slows down in August, so the decision was made to shorten the Taco Tuesday
