Lioness members Linda Kamashian, Barbara Weatherman and LaVerne Cann were the 2nd place winner in last year's Lions Charity Tournament. They are pictured with Golf Pro Pat Kemball.
All invited to 26th annual Charity Golf Tournament
The Canyon Lake Lions Club is sponsoring its 26th annual Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 19, at the Canyon Lake Golf Course. Deadline for entry is May 12. Two different games are available.
Players may sign up for a four-per- son scramble open to all players with or without a handicap. They may pick their own foursome or players will be assigned to a foursome.
The alternate game is a Pro-Am event open to all players with a handicap. Three amateurs will be paired with two Pros for a team in a two-best ball format: one best ball from the amateurs and one best ball from the pros.
For a $5 donation, anyone landing in the small circle on Hole 15 in one shot will receive $50, or $25 for landing in the larger circle. There also will be a putting contest, a longest drive between two lines on Hole 14 for both men and women, and, for a $2 donation, an op- portunity to get a prize for being closest
to the pin on Holes 2, 8, 11 and 17. Sponsorships are being sought for tee signs, green signs, longest drive and put- ting contest. For sponsorship information, contact Phil Coughlin at 951-805-0223. Organizers point out, “This is an excellent opportunity to advertise one’s business while helping a great organization.” Can- yon Golf Carts & Motorsports is sponsor-
ing a hole-in-one prize for Hole 11.
To register to play golf, contact Phil or Golf Pro Pat Kemball at 951-246- 1782, co-chairs for the event. The cost is $60 to enter (Includes banquet and awards). Green Fee is $29 and Cart Fee is $15. Entry forms are available in the
Canyon Lake Pro Shop.
This annual charity event has raised
over $200,000 over the past 25 years for Lion charities such as Guide Dogs of the Desert, Canine Companions, Friends in Sight, City of Hope, Loma Linda Eye Center, Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House, disaster relief worldwide, plus many organizations around Canyon Lake.

ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT
Tickets almost gone for ‘Beatles vs Stones’
The Fine Arts Guild appreciates the fantastic response to its next concert, Beatles vs. Stones: A Musical Shootout. Only a limited number of tickets remain available for the event scheduled for June 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lodge.
All remaining tickets will be available only through brownpapertickets.com or by calling 800-838-3006. VIP reserved seats are $45 and General Admission $25. The remaining tickets will not last long, so organizers suggest buying tickets now!
On stage will be two world-class tribute bands playing alternate sets of three songs each (six times) to determine “once and for all” which is the best rock and roll band of all time! Spokesperson Ron Martel says, “These are brilliant performers and the audience will be rooting for their favorites. It should be a lot of fun!”
Mark calendars for annual ‘Art at the Lake’
Total Canyon Lake
The Canyon Lake Art Association invites residents to mark their calendars for the “Art at the Lake” show at the Senior Center on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
Original artwork will be on display and for sale. This event is open to the public and will include refreshments, opportunity drawing and silent auction.
Artists are wanted to exhibit and sell their artwork at this event. Membership in CLAA is required. To register, visit the April general meeting.
The Canyon Lake Art Association welcomes new members! Artists are invited to socialize, make new friends, network, share their artwork, learn tips and techniques from monthly demon- strators, create new art pieces during Monday Night Open Studio, and find venues to exhibit and sell artwork.
General meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Senior Center and are open to the public. Guests are welcome to sit in on the monthly artist demonstrator. There
are signup sheets at the general meetings for club members wishing to hang their work at the Senior Center, Pepe’s Res- taurant and other CLAA events.
The next monthly meeting is Tuesday, April 26, featuring demonstrator Carol Landry. Carol paints primarily in oil; however, she enjoys painting in acrylics and has been refining her techniques over the past five years. She will demonstrate the use of color, light, shadows, tempera- ture, etc. while doing a 16x20 loosely painted rooster in acrylic. There will be a drawing for the rooster at the end of the meeting. Learn more about her work at www.carollandryfineart.com.
Members are encouraged to bring a food item to share. CLAA has painters, digital artists, photographers, cerami- cists, sculptors, fusion glass artists, etc. Membership is for individuals 18 and older, but all are welcome to attend and bring their art to share.
