Summer 2015 was a great ride!

As summer comes to a close, resi- dents will want to remember and take a moment to thank the various clubs and Association for their efforts to provide a wide variety of activities over the past four months. Many individuals gave time, talent, effort and money to make these events happen – from Fiesta Day to the final Learn to Ride Day and every- thing in between.
But before looking back, residents will want to mark their calendars for what lies ahead.
Fall is a busy season, leading into the holidays, so here is a brief list of up- coming events. Details on these activi- ties will be found in this week’s issue or future issues of The Friday Flyer. High school students are encouraged to volunteer for community service hours.
October 3 – Octoberfest in the Towne Center.
October 10 – Car Show at the Lodge; Citywide Cleanup Day at Canyon Lake Community Church.
October 17 – Renaissance Faire at Holiday Harbor
October 24 – Parade of Frights in the Towne Center
October 31 – Halloween Carnival at Holiday Harbor
November 7-8 – Holiday Boutique at the Senior Center

weekly at the Lodge, and Family Movie Nights were twice a month at Holiday Harbor, interspersed with Flick-n-Float at the Lodge pool. As always, the 4th of July Fireworks Show swelled the popu- lation of Canyon Lake by thousands.
Club-sponsored events included the Cosmic Carnival and Quarter Mania, hosted by the Family Matters Club; the Kids Fishing Derby, hosted by the Bassmasters; the Mermaid Festi- val, hosted by the Woman’s Club; the Paddle and Pedal Regatta, hosted by the Fitness and Triathlon Club; and the Pancake Breakfast, hosted by the Lions Club.
Various programs and classes includ- ed Canyon Lake Community Theater’s all-kids production of “Flower Power;” several Learn to Ski and Learn to Ride Days, hosted by the Ski Club and Wake- board Club; the Kids Summer Tennis Program, hosted by the Tennis Club; the Junior Golf Clinic at the Country Club; a Summer Reading Program at the Li- brary; and swim and water polo classes
