A-4 THE FRIDAY FLYER JUNE 12, 2015 Enjoy ‘Evening in Hawaii’ dance Saturday
Summer officially begins this weekend, and there’s no better way to start the season than with the Picnic and Dance tomorrow, June 20, starting at 5 p.m. at Holiday Harbor. Sponsored by the Fine Arts Guild, the “Evening in Hawaii” themed event is open to the entire community and will feature DJ Rob Robertson.
Rob is returning after his Picnic and Dance debut last summer. In addition to spinning the platters, Rob will showcase his vocal talents by singing the songs of Elvis, The Platters, The Drifters, Engelbert Hump- erdink, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Willie Nelson, to name a few.
There will be prizes for the best decorated tables utilizing the “Evening in Hawaii” theme. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic dinner and favorite beverages. (Fine Arts Guild Benefactors will receive a complimentary bottle of wine.)
Tickets are $20 per person and are available by con- tacting Marlene Marich at 951-244-4313. Guests are able to reserve tables for eight, or come individually or as couples and join a table to make new friends. Seats will be available for those who wait until the last min- ute to get tickets at the door.
The weather was fine and the music fun at last year's Picnic and Dance at Holiday Harbor, hosted
by the Fine Arts Guild.
Get guest passes early for 4th of July weekend
The 4th of July weekend is just two weeks away, and those who have lived in Canyon Lake for awhile understand that advance planning is important when it comes to getting guests into the com- munity on that busy day – not to men- tion expectations of hosting a gathering at Holiday Harbor.
The lottery for picnic pavilions at Holiday Harbor will be held tomorrow, June 20, beginning at 9 a.m. in the POA Conference Room. To enter, members must be in good standing. There are a to- tal of 17 tables that will be in the lottery; only one table can be reserved per tract- lot. The rest of the park will be available
first come, first served for residents to set up their own canopies and seating areas to watch the fireworks. The fire- works show is just across the bay at Skippers Island.
For those who expect guests to arrive for that busy weekend, getting passes into their hands prior to that day will go a long way toward helping them get through busy gates quickly.
Director of Member Services Su- sanne Cordeiro says guest passes can be ordered early and mailed to guests. Hol- iday passes, which are brightly colored so they are easy to see, will be issued, and additional staff will be walking the
gate lines with iPads in order to validate passes and move the vehicles to the de-
