Avid Canyon Lake angler Chuck Moreno spoofed Facebook readers on Wednesday, April 1, with this photo of a giant cat- fish. He wrote, "My uncle caught and released
this nice catfish over by Indian Beach yesterday. It swam away in good health. Please remember to catch and release." Fortunately, most readers saw it for the April Fools Day joke it was. But it's no joke that the Main Lake has better clarity these days. Fishermen are commenting that they can see fish several feet below the surface of the water. Of course, that doesn't mean they're any easier to catch! Once the East Bay gets its extra dose of alum next week, maybe residents will actually see a few of the big catfish that lurk under their docks.
