Letter: Lighthouse Restaurant

Editor, The Friday Flyer

Over the years, we have struggled with service and food quality at the Lighthouse Restaurant. This has caused many members to stop frequenting the restaurant, which has been a shame since the views from the Lighthouse are maybe the best of any restaurant in Riverside County.

Friday night, seven of us had dinner there. It was unbelievably great!  The hostess at the front counter seated us immediately and asked if we wanted water. Water arrived in seconds. A few moments later, bread and dishes with vinegar and oil were delivered. Our waiter, Dwayne, arrived seconds later and gave us menus and took drink orders. He told us the Specials of the Night; he was very friendly and courteous. In a very short time drinks arrived and dinner orders were taken.

Our meals were served in a timely fashion, were very warm (like they had just come off the stove) and were delicious; the presentation was excellent. Dwayne returned several times inquiring if we needed water, drinks or anything else.

As we were about finished eating, the manager, Thomas, came and asked if everything was good. He was very pleasant and talked to us for several minutes.

Our group, with an average age of 80 years old, can be very critical when the service or food quality is bad. One of our members summed it up when he said, “I can’t think of anything that wasn’t perfect tonight.” Also, food and drinks are very reasonably priced.

In the bar area, the younger crowd was having a great time with plenty of music. We highly recommend that you think about the lodge restaurant the next time you plan to have dinner out. We’ll guarantee you’ll be pleasantly surprised and pleased.
