Triathlon and Fitness Club hosts Polar Swim

The Triathlon and Fitness Club kicked off 2019 with its second annual Polar Swim on Jan. 1 at Sunset Beach. Six swimmers, Jerry Hollister, Craig Graham, Lainie Cooney, Paul Gallagher, George Hicks and Kalon Morris, braved the cold air and even colder water temperatures to participate in the event.

“The water was a bit chilly but refreshing,” said participant Lainie Cooney. “What a fun, invigorating way to start the new year.”

The Triathlon and Fitness Club will be participating in the Jr. Women’s Club upcoming Health and Wellness Fair on Jan. 13 at the lodge and invites residents to stop by the club’s booth to learn more about what the Triathlon and Fitness Club offers.

In addition to triathlon events and group practices, the club hosts community 5K/10K runs, the Tour de Canyon Lake bike ride and the annual Paddle and Pedal Regatta. The club is currently accepting 2019 membership applications. Annual dues are $30 for individuals and $40 for families.
