Community Patrol stats presented for November

The Community Patrol and Marine Patrol reports for the month of November were presented by the POA on Dec. 1. The Community Patrol report is prepared by Account Manager William Jordan, who was appointed to his position when Account Manager Mike Erickson resigned in December. The Marine Patrol report is provided by Marine Patrol Captain Steve Haney.

Community Patrol

Community Patrol answered 114 calls for service and performed 3,515 foot patrols of amenities and parks. Four suspicious persons/vehicles were reported with an average response time by Community Patrol of 9 minutes.

Patrol issued 15 speeding citations; speed trailer issued 116. Patrol officers issued 122 parking citations. Two golf cart related citations and two miscellaneous traffic citations were issued.

Eleven gate runner and 18 failure to comply citations were issued. Officers confiscated 388 guest passes.

Five citations were issued for verbal abuse to staff.

There were five reports of vandalism and four vehicle accidents. There was one report of the gate arm at the main gate striking and injuring a pedestrian.

Marine Patrol

Marine Patrol received 30 calls for service and performed 5.42 escorted hours, 10 boat safety inspections, five boat tows and eight quagga inspections. Three fishing license checks were performed. Five citations were issued for expired/no POA registration.

About Community Patrol

The POA contracts with U.S Security Associates to provide Community Patrol and Marine Patrol services to assist with non-emergency incidents that pertain to the POA’s Rules and Regulations. The City of Canyon Lake contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for police services.
