Volunteer Spotlight: Alissa Rackstraw

Alissa Rackstraw moved to Canyon Lake with her parents when she was just four-years-old. She has been an active member of Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club for the past five years. She served as the club’s president for two years and on several of the club’s committees, including Rocktoberfest, Holiday Boutique, Tree Lighting, Golf Tournament, Scholarships and Philanthropy.

In 2018, Alissa formed Canyon Lake Girl Scout Troop 1735 with her friend and fellow Canyon Laker Tina Freesmeier. The 15 members of the Troop range from kindergarten through fourth grades.

“It’s so fun to live in the lake,” said Alissa. “There’s always something going on.”

Alissa works at the University of California of Riverside. She met her husband Wally when the two were students at Elsinore High School. They are avid runners and can often be seen running through the community together, sometimes with their daughters Claire and Fiona riding their bikes alongside them.
