POA offers two winter STEM camps for kids

Children ages seven to 12 years old are invited to sign up for winter STEM camps offered by the POA. The camps will be held Jan. 7 through Jan. 11 in the East Port Activities Room. World of Robotics will meet from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Battlebots will meet from 12 to 3 p.m.

Each five-day camp is $135 per child. Signups are taken at the POA office.

STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.

Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
