Longtime resident Sal D’Agostino passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018.  He was born May 5, 1929, in Port Washington, New York, and came to California in 1964.

He joined his brother-in-law, Gino Marrale, in opening Gino’s Italian Restaurant on Harbor Blvd., one mile south of Disneyland.  Later he would get a job at Coors (the beer company) as a salesman. He worked his way up to be vice president and general manager.  Anyone who knew him knew he loved the Coors Co.

In 1987, Sal retired to Canyon Lake. After his first wife passed away, he married his present wife, Shirley, in 1997.  Between them, they had six sons, 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  Sal lost a granddaughter, Paige, at 18 years of age.  He also lost his son, Ron, three years ago.  On Nov. 24, his step-son, Mike, passed away.

Sal will be greatly missed by family and friends, including his caregiver Cheryl.
