Burke, McBride sworn in as EVMWD directors

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) welcomed its newest board members, Darcy Burke, a resident of Canyon Lake, and Jared McBride, who were elected in November and sworn into office on Dec. 7.

Burke will represent Division 1, which encompasses Canyon Lake and portions of Lake Elsinore, including Canyon Hills and Tuscany Hills. McBride is the new director for Division 3, which covers Lakeland Village, areas west of Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, and unincorporated areas west of Interstate 15.

Burke has decades of water leadership experience. She is a former executive director of the California Nevada section of the American Water Works Association and the Center for Water Education, a non-profit through Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. She is also a former director of public affairs for the Municipal Water District of Orange County and owns Watermark Associates in Temecula, which provides organizational and communication strategies for public, private and non-government organizations.

McBride is a business owner and lifelong resident of the Elsinore Valley. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago, with a concentration on policy administration and management.

EVMWD board meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each the month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at 31315 Chaney Street, Lake Elsinore.
