Travel Club announces 2019 board members

The Canyon Lake Travel Club installed it’s new officers at the club’s annual Christmas dinner-dance on Friday, Nov. 30, at the lodge. The new officers are as follows: Jan May, president; Lyne Hall, 1st vice-president multi-day; Nyla Finch, 1st vice-president assistant; Tammy Revard, 2nd vice-president single-day; Barbara Duncan, secretary; Bob Templeton, treasurer; Kathy Bacon, reservations; Alexis Prince, social; Kathy Veenhuizen, social assistant; Rose Marie Hand, membership; and Barbara Spraul as publicity.

The new officers will take their seats on the board starting Jan. 1.

The Travel Club invites adult members of the community to join in on the club’s travel adventures. Annual membership is $10. Membership is not a requirement to participate in club travel adventures; however, members receive discounted prices on most of the Travel Club’s trips.

The club will travel to Palm Springs on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, via motor coach to see the “Duets” musical tribute to Cher, Elton John, Liza Minnelli and Tom Jones and to have lunch at Billy Reed’s Restaurant. There will be a stop at Hadley’s Fruit Orchard on the way home. The motor coach leaves the lodge at 9:45 a.m. and returns at 6:30 a.m. The cost is $99 per member and $104 per non-member. Club members will take “The Great West Coast Train Journey” from Mar. 20 to Mar. 26, 2019. Highlights include Amtrak from San Diego to San Luis Obispo for a stay at the Madonna Inn, a two-day adventure to Seattle and a trip to Vancouver. A special dinner is included.
