POA to kick off holiday season with tree lighting

The community is invited to join the POA as it kicks off the holiday season with its 37th annual Tree Lighting Festival on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the lodge. This family-friendly holiday event will feature the ceremonial lighting of the tree at the lodge, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and a variety of holiday entertainment and activities.

Santa will be escorted to the lodge on a fire truck at approximately 5:30 p.m. where he’ll light the tree with Mrs. Claus.

After the tree lighting, Santa and Mrs. Claus will take their seats next to the Christmas tree in the Holiday Bay Room and take photos with children and families. Parents should bring their own cameras.

The POA advises residents to dress warmly as this will be an outdoor event. With the exception of service animals, pets are not allowed on the lodge grounds. The Lighthouse Restaurant and Bar will be open during this event; however, the parking lot may be extra busy during the event.

On the same evening, the POA will light up the trees at the main gate and along the main causeway. The trees are decorated by clubs in the community.
