On behalf of the Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS), Hugh Wagoner presented a $200 donation to Peppermint Ridge, an organization in Norco, California, that serves men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Tracy Mauser, director of development and public relations, accepted the check on behalf of the organization.

In 1945, Bob and Mary Jeffery had a son with multiple disabilities. As he grew, they looked for services to assist them. Finding nothing that met their standard of care, they started their own program in their home in Norco with six boys.

Today, Peppermint Ridge operates 11 homes throughout Corona serving nearly 100 men and women affectionately known as “Ridgers.” Some residents have called Peppermint Ridge home for more than 30 years.

Activities offered to Peppermint Ridge residents include fitness and sports, music and singing lessons, cooking lessons, art classes, day trips, summer camp, therapeutic horseback riding and self-advocacy class, to name a few. Coaching services and life-long learning activities focus on providing tools to determine what their wishes and dreams are and helping them achieve them.

A generous donor has offered to match dollar-for-dollar any funds raised between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, up to $100,000. To make a donation or learn more about Peppermint Ridge, visit peppermintridge.org
