Shop local, shop big on Small Business Saturday

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce is asking residents to shop local and shop big on Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24.

Small Business Saturday is an annual American shopping tradition held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Small Business Saturday is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday that feature big box retailers and e-commerce stores respectively.

By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.

Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is dedicated to supporting small businesses and celebrating communities across the country.

Small businesses play a key role in helping communities thrive. Shopping at them on Small Business Saturday, and throughout the year, can help make a positive impact on the community.

The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce encourages residents to get out and shop at small local businesses on Nov. 24.

While some shops in the Towne Center will be offering specials on Small Business Saturday, it’s more about those small businesses being special and what they bring to the community.

Whether they are a family business, local shop, service business or wholesaler, Small Business Saturday is about them and supporting a small business owner’s dream.
