Lighthouse Thanksgiving

The Lighthouse Restaurant is offering a traditional Thanksgiving brunch on Nov. 22 from 12 to 5 p.m. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 951-244-6841, ext. 771. Prices are $32.50 for adults and $13.50 for children ages six to 12.

Children five and younger are free with each paid adult. Champagne can be added for $8.

Country Club Thanksgiving

The Country Club Bar & Grill will be closed on Thanksgiving. The golf course will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thanksgiving Break Art Camp

The POA is holding an Art Camp for kids during Thanksgiving break. The camp is for children in kindergarten through seventh grades and will be held Nov. 19 through Nov. 21 in the East Port Activity Room at East Port Park. Registration is $75 per child. Additional siblings are $70.

Senior Potlucks

Senior center potlucks will not be held in November and December. Potlucks will resume in January.

Senior Center New Year’s Eve

Tickets for the senior center’s New Year’s Eve Party go on sale Dec. 3 at the POA office. The event is for seniors 55 years and older.

Pickleball Bulletin

The pickleball bulletin has arrived and will be installed soon. The rules sign will be arriving shortly.

New Storage Sheds

Storage sheds for pickleball and tennis courts were received from Costco and are scheduled to be installed once assembly is done.

New Pedestrian Gate

The board approved funding on Oct. 2 in the amount of $18,985.58 plus a five percent contingency from CIP Fund 05-670 for a new pedestrian gate at the east gate entrance. A pre-construction meeting was held to determine an action plan and timetable for the project to move forward.

Bar Trivia

Residents ages 21 and older are invited to round up a team and test their trivia skills at Bar Trivia Night at the lodge on Thursday, Nov. 29,  from 7 to 9 p.m. Arrive early and enjoy Happy Hour specials from 5 to 7 p.m.

Free Round of Golf

The first round of golf is free for Canyon Lake homeowners. This offer is valid for new customers only and limited to one person per tract/lot.

Curfew

Curfew is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for minors under the age of 18. The Prime Member will be held responsible for the behavior and actions of minors. Members may be fined accordingly.

Court Hours

The pickleball courts are located at East Pork Park and are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The tennis courts are located at the lodge and are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Fall Park Hours

Fall park hours are 8 a.m. to 8 pm.

Lighthouse Brunch

The next Sunday brunch at the Lighthouse Restaurant is scheduled for Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Brunch is $23.50 for adults and $12.95 for children ages six to 12. Children ages five and younger eat free with one paid adult.

Board Meetings

POA Regular Session Board Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Agendas are posted on the POA website four days in advance of the meeting.

Meetings are streamed live on the POA website at canyonlakepoa.com and broadcast on channel 39 (Verizon Cable subscribers) and channel 29 (Spectrum Cable subscribers).

Trailer Parking

Trailers, including but not limited to horse trailers, utility trailers and any other similar vehicle, may not be parked on the street after sunset.

Boat trailers carrying a boat may be parked if attached to a towing vehicle for no more than one period from dusk to dawn any given day.

RFID Transponders

RFID transponders allow residents quicker access to the community at each of the three gates. Members who wish to receive a free RFID transponder must bring their vehicle to the POA office along with a current vehicle registration (must be registered to a community member) and photo identification. A staff member will install the sticker on the vehicle. Members who do not bring their vehicle to the POA office cannot be issued a sticker. The stickers do not have to be replaced on an annual basis; however, members must provide annual registration to reactivate the sticker/transponder.

Gas Dock

To make fueling boats more convenient for members, the POA operates a boat fuel dock located at Happy Camp. The dock is open daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The dock is closed daily from 12 to 12:45 p.m.

Door-to-Door Solicitation

Door-to-door solicitation of retail, commercial services and/or products is not permitted in Canyon Lake. The fine is $250 for the first offense, $500 for the second offense an $1,000 for the third offense.

Equestrian Center Horses

The living quarter and stall areas of the horses are limited to horse owners, their escorted guests and/or those that have been authorized to interact with the horses by signing the appropriate waivers. The fine for violating this rule is $50.

Garage Sale Signs

All signs advertising a garage sale may be placed the morning of the sale and must be removed at the conclusion of the sale.

POA Gift Cards

The POA offers gift cards that can be used at the country club, golf course, Lighthouse Restaurant and Bar and for POA merchandise such as license plate frames. The gift cards can not be used for paying citations, registration or POA dues. Gift cards are available for purchase at the POA office.

Dog Friendly Parks

East Port Dog Park, Harrelson Park, Emerald Park, Lions Park and Outrigger Park are the only parks that allow dogs. All dogs must remain on a leash with the exception of East Port Dog Park where dogs may be leash-less inside the fenced area.

Leash Rule

All pets must be restrained on a leash while on common property, or confined by fencing or other secured enclosure within their property. The only common area where pets can be leash-less is at the dog park at East Port Park. For more information, refer to the Rules and Regulations General Rules Section 2.14.

Pizza Nights

The Lighthouse Restaurant offers 15 percent off dine in and carry out pizzas on Monday nights.

Boat Rental Docks

The POA offers boat rental docks at the lodge for boat owners who don’t have their own personal dock for their vessel. There are 125 total slips with four months and annual contracts available. For pricing, contact Member Services at 951-244-6841, ext 310.

Street Parking

Street parking is for short-term use only. In order to promote visibility and the aesthetic appeal of the community and to reduce damage to POA-maintained asphalt from oil and other fluid leaks, street parking is discouraged and subject to limitation. No vehicle may be parked on Canyon Lake streets without a current decal, guest pass or permit and in excess of a consecutive 72 hour period. No inoperable or unregistered vehicles without a current Canyon Lake decal or parking permit may be parked on streets for any period of time.

Golf Cart Registration

Residents are required to register their golf carts with the POA. A valid Certificate of Liability coverage which identifies the registering member as the policyholder must be submitted at the time of registration.

No Fishing on Causeways

Fishing is prohibited by land on the main causeway (east and west side), the north causeway (north and south side) between both parking lot entries and the Treasure Island causeway. Fishing also is prohibited from all common docks when boats and/or swimmers are present.

Member Services

Member Services is responsible for assisting the membership with general information such as golf memberships, guest passes, issuing vehicle and boat decals, obtaining POA ID cards and processing payments. Member Services is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The POA offices are closed on Sundays.

Pre-printed Guest Passes

Members can request pre-printed guest passes for parties of ten or more people by submitting first and last names of guests, event date and member’s name, tract/lot and phone number to the POA office at least one week in advance.

Country Club Entertainment

The country club offers live entertainment every Friday at 7 p.m. along with dinner and drink specials.

Lost and Found

The POA has a Lost and Found for items found in the parks and other locations within the community. To inquire, call 951-244-6841, ext. 218 during regular business hours. Be sure to provide details on the item and leave your name and phone number so staff can get back to you after checking the inventory. Items are held for 30 days and then donated.

Fall Pool Hours

The pool closes at 7 p.m. The pool will close for winter on Nov. 26. It will reopen in March.

Park Reservations

Reservation options are available for the pavilion and snack bar at Holiday Harbor Park, kitchen and Activities Room at East Port Park, pavilion at Roadrunner Park and the stage at Indian Beach. For prices, contact the POA at 951-244-6841.

Guest Call-in App

The dwellingLIVE app for iOS and Android users allows members to easily manage guest lists and account information from their mobile device. To get this app, search dwellingLIVE in the app store from their phone. Members will need to know their login email and password to sign up.

Bench Program

The Bench Program provides an opportunity for POA sanctioned clubs and organizations to contribute to the enhancement of the community. Benches are currently available for purchase at the lodge, Sunset Beach, Diamond Point Park, Lucky Cove Park and Lions Park. Bench prices range from $1,400 to $2,100, depending on bench style, location, and lettering/design. The price includes lettering/design, delivery and installation. The POA will maintain the bench throughout the life of the bench. All bench purchases are subject to POA approval. Main Gate Lanes

The main gate decal lane closes nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Residents may access the community via the RFID lane or the guest lane during these hours.

Radar Units

All Community Patrol vehicles are equipped with dash-mounted radars. They are calibrated before and after shifts. Residents who are pulled over may review the reading on the dash-mounted system if requested.

Outside Golf Membership

The POA Board of Directors approved adding a monthly outside golf membership of $315 per month for a maximum of three months, effective immediately.

Speed Limits

The speed limit on all main streets (Canyon Lake Dr. North and South, Continental Dr., Longhorn Dr., and Vacation Dr.) is 35 MPH; 25 MPH near the gates and on all other streets.

Commercial Vehicles

Commercial vehicles are required to access the community through the east and north gates only. No commercial vehicles will be allowed access through the main gate.

Boat Service Seal Changes

Canyon Lake residents who exit the community with their boat for gas, service, etc. should request a service seal (white tag) from Community Patrol. Upon re-entry, a service seal indicates to staff that the boat has not been in another body of water and does not need to be inspected for quagga mussel. To make this process easier, Community Patrol gate guards will now provide the white tags at both the east and north gates. Residents exiting with their boat may stop and park in the 10-minute parking area directly behind the east and north gate guard buildings.

Swimming in Lake

Members who have anchored their boat within a 5 MPH zone away from boat traffic lanes may swim/float within the immediate area surrounding their boat. Some of the best places to do this are the East Bay, Catfish Cove and Big Bass Cove.

Country Club Buffet

The country club offers a buffet of breakfast items and a Bloody Mary Bar every Sunday. The buffet is $12.50 and served between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Bloody Mary Bar offers endless Bloody Marys for $13.50 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Free Birthday Dessert

POA members may get a free dessert on their birthday at either the country club or lodge. ID and POA card are required for free dessert.

Registration

All boats and golf carts being driven within the community must have the new POA decals displayed. Community Patrol and Marine Patrol will be out enforcing these rules. To update registration, visit Member Services at the POA office or call 951-244-6841, ext. 310.

Boater Safety Test

A safety inspection must be obtained from Marine Patrol every other year. A safety inspection is required for all vessels that are required to be registered with the State. Prior to obtaining a safety inspection, members must pass a boater’s safety exam. The safety exam can be found on the POA’s website at canyonlakepoa.com.

Speed Trailer

The speed trailer is programmed to capture the license plates of vehicles speeding within the community. Speeders will be issued citations by mail. The RU2 radar mobile speed trailer will be used to help bring attention to speed control throughout the community and assist Community Patrol with issuing tickets for speeders in multiple locations. Any person who receives additional speeding citations within thirty-six months of a previous offense will be subject to a progressive fine. The progressive fine will be compounded for each additional offense.

Swimming Areas

The following parks and beaches have roped off swimming areas: Holiday Harbor Park, Roadrunner Park, Indian Beach, Moonstone Beach, Sunset Beach and Sierra Park.

Website Accounts

The POA encourages members to create an account on the POA’s website at canyonlakepoa.com. Members can customize their online experience through their own personal dashboard, plus have full access to the website. To create an account, simply visit the website, click the Login button in the top left corner and complete the registration form. Allow POA staff up to three business days to validate the account.

Happy Hour

The lodge offers $5 appetizer and drink specials Monday through Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The country club offers drink specials and $3, $5 and $9 appetizers Monday through Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.

POA Text Alerts

Residents can sign up to receive text alerts from the POA by texting ALLPOA 25827.

Boat Towing

All tow boats towing air chairs (hydrofoils), kneeboards, wakeboards or similar devices, other than water skis, must stay within 100 feet of the center buoy lines unless boating safety dictates otherwise. All boats in tow on the main lake must be on plane. The fine for this is $50.

Community Patrol

Community Patrol wants to make residents aware that there has been a reported rise in theft and attempted theft in the community. Residents should contact the police if they see a suspicious person or suspicious activity. Residents may contact Community Patrol after contacting the police and they will response while waiting for the police to arrive. Community Patrol and the police have started sharing “Be on the Lookout” alerts for the gates as well as pictures of subjects.

Residents are reminded to call Community Patrol for POA Rules and Regulations violations and the police for issues pertaining to the law.

Fishing Licenses

All California State Fishing Regulations apply when fishing in Canyon Lake. Everyone over the age of 16 must have a California state fishing license. Licenses and permits must be visible at all times; members are required to have their POA ID card in their possession. Guest fishing must either be in the presence of a resident with a POA card or purchase a Guest Fishing Permit. Permits can be purchased at the POA office at a cost of $5 per day or $20 for ten days. Playgrounds

The following parks and beaches have playgrounds: Diamond Point Park, Emerald Park, Holiday Harbor Park, Indian Beach Park, Outrigger Park, Rob Caveney Park, Steelhead Park and Sunset Beach.

Security Concerns

The POA has a security email address for residents who wish to provide feedback on Community Patrol services. The POA wants to hear from residents, whether it’s a compliment, complaint or a concern about security. The email address, security@canyonlakepoa.com, is a non-emergency, no-reply email address.

Residents are reminded that Community Patrol is to assist residents with non-emergency incidents, such as POA Rules and Regulations violations. Community Patrol can be reached at 951-244-6841, ext. 410. For matters pertaining to the law and duties regularly carried out by peace officers, call the Riverside Sheriff’s Office (RSO) non-emergency number at 951-776-1099. For emergencies, call 911.

Community Patrol can assist with the following non-emergency incidents:

  • Loud noise complaints
  • Barking dogs or loose dogs
  • Speeding and traffic sign violations
  • Vehicle accidents
  • Motorcycle riding in community
  • Golf carts violating Rules and Regulations
  • Vandalism to POA property
  • Illegal fishing

Monday through Thursday: 5 to 9 p.m.

Friday: 5 to 10 p.m.

Saturday: 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday Dinner: 3 to 8 p.m.

Traffic School

The POA offers Traffic School as another method to remove a citation from a member’s account. A member is eligible to attend traffic school for a moving violation once every 36 months, as long as the Prime Member is in good standing with the POA and the citation is not related to alcohol/drug use, possession of drugs nor did the citation cause injury or property damage. Lake and Marina citations are also excluded from Traffic School eligibility. Traffic School is held on the last Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the POA office. The fee is $25 and due at the time of registration. Upon completion, the citation will be removed from the Prime Member’s account. Paid citations do not qualify for Traffic School. Paying Citations

If you received a violation, payments may be made the following ways:

  1. Mail a check or money order made out to CLPOA to 31512 Railroad Canyon Road Canyon Lake, CA 92587.
  2. Pay in person at the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association building located at 31512 Railroad Canyon Road in Canyon Lake with a check, money order or credit card.
  3. Pay over the phone with a credit or debit card by calling the Member Services Department at 951-244-6841 ext. 310. Have your tract-lot number and citation number (located at the top right-hand corner of the citation) ready.

Golf Pro Shop

The Golf Pro Shop at the country club features the latest in golf clubs from Ping, Mizuno, Callaway and Titleist. It also stocks Nike, EP Pro, Antigua and Foot Joy golf apparel. Canyon Lake Property Owner’s Association members receive a 20 percent discount on select apparel.

Lock Vehicles

Residents are reminded to double-check their vehicle doors and windows each evening and be sure alarm systems are activated. Records show most thefts from vehicles in Canyon Lake occur because doors were left unlocked or windows left open. Residents should not leave items of value in front yards or driveways. Open cars and valuables left outside can lead to “crimes of opportunity” that can be easily prevented. If a crime is in progress, call 9-1-1 before calling Community Patrol at 951-244-6841, ext. 410.

Art Tiles

The POA invites individuals and clubs to contribute art tiles for the tile walls located at the playground at Sunset Beach and at the tennis courts. Those who wish to contribute can paint a tile at The Cup Above in the Towne Center. The cost is $9.68 per tile and includes paint and firing. Tiles must be the six-inch tiles. Once the tile has been painted and fired, deliver it to the POA Operations office on Longhorn Dr. and they will install it on the wall.

Exercise Classes

Take advantage of the many programs and classes offered by the POA. The first class is free. Additional classes can be purchased at the POA or pool offices. Instructors cannot accept payment. To learn more about each class, contact the POA Activities department at 951-244-6841, ext. 610.

  • Yoga by the Lake

Yoga coach Dani Martin invites residents to connect body and mind with Yoga by the Lake on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. on the sand at Sunset Beach. Classes are $35 for five classes; $60 for 10 classes. Participants should bring a towel or mat. For more information, contact Dani at 949-294-9904.

  • Morning Yoga

Morning Yoga offers a gentle approach to yoga. Each class focuses on enhancing breathing and inner calm, improving balance, increasing flexibility, mobility and strengthen muscles. Classes are held on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in the Sunset Beach Room at the lodge. Classes are $25 for five classes; $40 for 10 classes. Classes are led by instructor Gina Kraut, a licensed massage therapist, reflexologist and Reiki Master. For more information, contact Gina at 951-566-7596.

  • Line Dancing

Line dancing classes are held by Canyon Lake resident Diana Gallagher. Diana has more than 15 years of line dancing experience. All classes are held in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Beginner classes (no experience necessary) are held on Tuesdays from 2 to 5 p.m. Intermediate classes (advanced experience) are held on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Classes are $25 for five classes; $40 for 10 classes.   • Dancercise

Dancercise is a low-impact exercise class that involves stretching exercises, starting with the upper body then floor exercise and line dancing. This is a free class for all ages. Classes are held on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. in the Pool View Room at the lodge. For more information, contact Daryl Schwarz at 951-244-6609.

  • Water Aerobics

Stay cool while getting into shape with fun water cardio exercise. Water aerobics is an effective and safe combination of movements to strengthen the heart and tone the body.

Summer water aerobics classes run through Aug. 31. Class times are Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Evening classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. Fall classes run Sept. 4 through Nov. 21 and are held Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m. Evening classes are not offered in the fall.
