Community Patrol stats presented for September

The Community Patrol and Marine Patrol reports for the month of September were presented by the POA on Nov. 6. The Community Patrol report is prepared by Account Manager Michael Erikson. The Marine Patrol report is provided by Marine Patrol Captain Steve Haney.

Community Patrol

Community Patrol answered 112 calls for service and performed 3,275 foot patrols of amenities and parks. Ten suspicious persons/vehicles were reported with an average response time by Community Patrol of 4.8 minutes.

Patrol issued 32 speed citations, the speed trailer issued 38. Patrol officers issued 128 parking citations. Seventeen golf cart related citations and 17 miscellaneous traffic citations were issued.

Seven gate runner and nine failure to comply (refusal to show POA/DL/ID) citations were issued. Officers confiscated 860 guest passes.

Nine citations were issued for verbal abuse. Seven animal-related citations were issued.

Three bus stop related citations were issued. Four citations were issued for noise and one citation was issued for solicitation citation.

There were three motor vehicle accidents and five vandalism incidents reported.

A noose was found hanging in the field across from Outrigger. RSO canvassed the area and determined that the incident was not directed at any person and that there was no crime proven.

At the Berlin concert, an individual attempted to sneak in and was caught by community patrol and cited for vandalism to the bathroom sign and verbal harassment.

A Motor vehicle accident between a resident and POA Operations duty vehicle was reported to RSO.

An intoxicated driver stopped by community patrol. RSO was notified and the subject was arrested.

Marine Patrol

Marine Patrol received 16 calls for service and performed 9.45 escorted hours, 58 boat safety inspections, 13 boat tows, one battery assist and 39 quagga inspections. Six fishing license checks were performed, and five fishing related citations were issued.

About Community Patrol

The POA contracts with U.S. Security Associates to provide Community Patrol and Marine Patrol services to assist with non-emergency incidents that pertain to the POA’s Rules and Regulations. The City of Canyon Lake contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for police services. The POA, City of Canyon Lake and Riverside Sheriff’s Department all work closely to provide the residents of Canyon Lake with a safe community.

Community Patrol’s primary functions are to provide the community with services that include access control at the entry gates, Rules and Regulations compliance, and incident observation and reporting to the Association. Community Patrol’s services do not replace the services of outside public safety agencies such as law enforcement, fire services, medical services, city code enforcement, etc.

Community Patrol is located at 23066 Canyon Lake Dr. South. Marine Patrol is located at the Holiday Harbor Park boat launch area.
