Garden Club visits Roger’s Garden, Nixon Library

The Canyon Lake Garden Club’s October outing included a trip to Roger’s Garden in Corona Del Mar where the ladies shopped for seasonal plants and checked out some great ideas for holiday decorating.

The trip ended with lunch at California Pizza Kitchen in the Fashion Island Mall. The outing was organized by Pat Engelhardt, Ilee Muenzer and Janis Rodriguez.

September’s outing included a two-hour guided tour of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda. The tour included visiting the former president’s gravesite and childhood home and Pat Nixon’s rose garden. The tour was followed by lunch at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse.

Eighteen members attended the excursion organized by Penny Owens and Paula Lynch.

The Garden Club is made up of a group of women who enjoy monthly excursions to various garden-related places. The trips are always followed by lunch.

On November 9, the group will be visiting the Great Oak Tree, a 2000-year-old tree on the Pechanga Reservation. Lunch at the Bluewater Grill in Temecula will follow the excursion.

“We go all over hunting out these gardens, searching near and far for garden-related activities,” said member Penny Owens.

The club does not have any openings for new members at this time. Those who would like to be added to the waiting list may contact Dawn Bora at dawnhlo@yahoo.com.
