City’s commemorative bricks, banners honor veterans

The City of Canyon Lake offers two ways for residents to honor a loved one who is a veteran or currently serving in a branch of the military. The Veterans Memorial Brick Program allows residents to honor a special veteran in their life with a commemorative brick installed in the circle around the monument at the Veterans Park in the Towne Center.

The cost is $50 per brick and includes installation. The bricks can be personalized up to three lines with a maximum of sixteen characters. They are sold at City Hall and at Pack, Wrap and Post in the Towne Center.

In 2015, the city began its Military Banner Program for residents to honor active duty military personnel and veterans who reside in Canyon Lake. The banners are displayed on light poles on Railroad Canyon Rd. and in the Towne Center. Each banner includes the honoree’s name and picture.
