Don’t miss Rocktoberfest Saturday at Holiday Harbor

Celebrate the traditions of Oktoberfest with a twist at the Jr. Women’s Club Rocktoberfest tomorrow, Oct. 13, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. Residents are invited to put on their patriotic best for this year’s theme of Red, White and Brew in honor of veterans.

Rocktoberfest will feature beer tastings from local microbreweries, live music by The Bad Dancers, food booths, vendors, stein holding contest, dog races and a single-elimination cornhole tournament. There will be a moment of silence at 3:30 p.m. Beer tasting stamps are $20 for 18 tastings. An ID and wristband will be required for alcohol purchases and tastings.

A Wiener Dog Race for dachshund dogs has been added to this year’s entertainment lineup. There will also be a race for small breed dogs under 20 pounds. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. The entry fee is $10. Dog owners can enter their furry friends by emailing canyonlakejwc@gmail.com.

The Jr. Women’s Club is a non-profit philanthropic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarship programs, help local families in need and donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake. Proceeds from the Rocktoberfest help to support the Jr. Women’s Club philanthropic projects.
