CL Community Theatre invites community to ‘Once Upon a Time’

Canyon Lake Community Theater invites the community to its benefactor dinner show, “Once Upon a Time,” on Sunday, Oct. 21, in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge.

The show includes over 30 musical numbers from past CLCT shows. Many current and former members of the club will be performing, including Rosalie Perrotte, Stephanie Vecchione, Corky Post, Tracy Vartanian, Taylor Pigeon, and Monty Jordan. It’s fun entertainment for all ages and fans of show tunes.

Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. The dinner menu consists of pasta bar with bread, salad and dessert. There will be a no-host bar. The doors open at 6:15 p.m. for show only ticket holders. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for dinner plus the show are $35 for adults and $20 for children. Dinner tickets must be purchased in advance. General Admission tickets for the show only are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors (over age 65) and $10 for children under the age of 12. Show only tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.

CLCT has begun its annual benefactor drive and is looking for community members to join its Benefactor Circle. Since the start of this local non-profit organization in 1993, CLCT has put on many quality productions for the community. CLCT has worked 9 to 5, gone to Neverland with Peter Pan, sang to the Sound of Music and most recently found their happiness with Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang.

CLCT is currently looking to replace its antiquated equipment in order to continue providing quality theatre as well as an outlet for local talent to showcase their skills and abilities as well as bring back Moonlight Theatre at the park. Shows at the park and quality sound and theater equipment are quite costly; CLCT needs the help of the community to raise funds to keep the organization going.

Benefactor Circle levels begin at $150. Members of CLCT’s Benefactor Circle will be recognized in show programs, receive a business ad if you are a business benefactor and receive tickets to the upcoming production of “Once Upon a Time.” For more information about becoming a benefactor or for show tickets, contact CLCT at canyonlaketheatre@gmail.com or 951-821-6767.

The purpose of the CLCT is to provide the community with access to the performing arts by providing a platform and showcase for local talent. The organization engages and entertains the community by providing theatre experience for all ages.  CLCT is also always looking for volunteers to be part of its productions from acting and singing, to lighting, directing and producing of productions.
