Canyon Laker Brady Hansen chose Happy Camp as the spot for his marriage proposal to Amber Wagstaff, his girlfriend of seven years. She said, “Yes!”

“Now that they have reached their goal in finding the perfect home to build together, Brady thought that it would be the best time to finally pop the question,” said Amber’s sister Amanda Hubbard.

Brady’s original plan was to propose to Amber during a camping trip at a lake in Oregon. He had envisioned proposing to Amber on the dock overlooking the lake but that plan was detoured when, after driving long eight hours, they pulled up to a dirt lot with a dock in the middle. “The lake had completely evaporated and his plans to propose to Amber in Oregon was obviously not going to work out,” explained Amanda.

The couple headed back to Canyon Lake to camp at Happy Camp and invited Amber’s family, who also live in Canyon Lake, to join them at the campground.

With the sun setting and family looking on, Brady got down on one knee and proposed. “It couldn’t have been a more beautiful setting,” said Amanda. “Everyone was cheerful, tears were shed and Amber and Brady looked happy as ever.”

After the proposal, the newly engaged couple celebrated with a barbecue and s’mores with family and friends.

“We are so grateful to live in such a beautiful place that has so many different amenities,” said Amanda. “I know that Happy Camp will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
