13th annual CL Car Show is two weeks away

The 13th annual Canyon Lake Car Show will feature a rainbow of classic and custom cars sporting shiny reds, blues and yellows. Hundreds of classic and custom cars will roar into Canyon Lake for the 13th annual Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge.

The Car Show is sponsored by the Canyon Lake Car Club and POA. It’s one of Canyon Lake’s biggest events of the year, featuring hundreds of pre-1977 classic and custom cars and trucks, awards, music, more than 30 food and merchandise vendors, silent auction and prize drawings.

Gates open at 9 a.m., judging is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and more than 25 trophies will be presented at 2 p.m. Raffle and 50/50 drawings will be held at 1:30 p.m.

The Lighthouse Restaurant will offer a special custom menu for this event.

Owners of pre-1977 vehicles are invited to participate in the Car Show. Participants do not need to be a member of the Car Club or a resident of Canyon Lake. Car registration is $25 and includes a logo T-shirt, goody bag and a commemorative magnetic dash plaque. To register, mail the registration form and $25 (payable to Canyon Lake Car Club) to CLCS PMB 410, 31566 Railroad Canyon Rd., Canyon Lake, California, 92587. As a nonprofit organization, the Car Show donates all its profits to various groups and causes in and outside of Canyon Lake. It has given funds to the Canyon Lake Veterans Memorial, Progeria Research Foundation, Oak Grove Center in Murrieta, Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, charity golf tournaments and college scholarships, name a few.
