Mayor heads to Washington, D.C.

Mayor Vicki Warren has been invited by the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs to attend the Women Mayor of America White House Conference next week in Washington, D.C. for a discussion with key administration officials and policymakers on shared priorities.

“I’m looking forward to representing Canyon Lake in Washington, D.C., and speaking with other female mayors across the nation,” said Mayor Warren. “There is so much to talk about, starting with our federal land.”

Mayor Warren will tour the White House, attend a White House briefing with key administration officials and attend a breakout discussion session on key issues impacting cities and localities.

The White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs serves as the primary liaison between the White House and state, county, local and tribal governments. The office focuses on building and maintaining relationships with state and local offices.

Part of this process includes welcoming the country’s state and local leaders to the White House for events, such as the one Mayor Warren will be attending.
