Community invited to 8th annual Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest returns to the Canyon Lake Towne Center on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 9 p.m. Hosted by Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, the 8th annual Oktoberfest features live music by the American Bavarian Brass Band, traditional food, beer and wine garden, kids zone, carnival games and vendors.

This year’s contests include stein holding, beer drinking (non-alcoholic), hot dog eating and jalapeno eating. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

An ID and wristband are required for alcohol purchases. Beer tickets are $5 each. Oktoberfest commemorative mugs will be available for purchase for $5 per mug.

The chamber is seeking sponsors and non-food vendors for this event. Vendor spaces are $30. To reserve a space, contact Alison Burrafato at 951-244-6124 or canyonlakechamber@outlook.com.

The chamber also is seeking sponsors for its 26th annual Parade of Frights on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 9 a.m. Parade of Frights brings costumed children to the Towne Center to trick-or-treat at more than 30 businesses.

This historic event draws hundreds of children each year and features carnival games, costume contests, bounce house, music and a special appearance by Thunder of Storm Stadium.
