Berlin returns Saturday

Back by popular demand, new wave band Berlin will perform at the lodge tomorrow, Sept. 15. This time, Terri Nunn returns with the original band members. As expected, the concert sold-out. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; show starts at 7:30 p.m.

It was announced this week that there will be a special guest performer opening the show. The performer’s identity is being kept top secret until the night of the show.

Award-winning singer/songwriter Chris James is the featured performer. Chris has shared the stage with national acts as Sugar Ray, Hootie & the Blowfish and REO Speedwagon. His band 34Below has achieved success with both national and independent releases garnering radio play across the globe.

Berlin will take the stage at approximately 8:30 p.m. The band gained mainstream-commercial success in the early 80s with singles “The Metro,” “No More Words” and “Take My Breath Away.” For Saturday’s concert, a large video screen will serve as a backdrop behind the band with the video synced to the drummer. Berlin’s performance is expected to be a mix of the band’s classics peppered with tracks from their latest release.

The POA’s “Concerts at the Lodge” shows are produced by Doug Schultz, concert manager for the Entercom San Diego radio stations, project manager, talent buyer and contract negotiator of over 2,000 concerts and special events. He has more than 30 years experience in the concert business and has worked with more than 5,000 national acts.
