Canyon Lakers turn business trip into vacation

Greg and Tarrie Sullivan decided to make a two-day mini vacation out of Greg’s recent business trip to Sterling, Virginia. The Sullivans, along with heir 12-year-old granddaughter Kailyn, traveled to Washington D.C. where they arranged a tour of the Capitol Building through Congressman Ken Calvert’s office. Congressman Calvert represents California’s 42nd congressional district, which includes Canyon Lake.

“Chandler, the staff assistant to Mr. Calvert, offered to provide us with a personal tour and we gladly accepted,” said Greg. “We walked from her office through a series of underground air-conditioned tunnels to reach the Capitol Building. She spent almost two hours with us and took us to some areas not normally available to group tours. She did an amazing job.”

In addition to touring the Capitol Building, the Sullivans visited Arlington National Cemetery to see John F. Kennedy’s burial site with its eternal flame. They also witnessed “The Changing of the Guard” at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
