Catch of the day

The smoke and ash from the nearby Holy fire in Lake Elsinore didn’t stop the Stephens family from fishing last week. Janet, her husband Zack and daughter Sierra caught a total of six largemouth bass weighing two to four pounds each while fishing at Sunset Beach. They used plastic baits set up Texas rigged.

“It was pretty smoky,” Janet said. “We didn’t stay long.” All fish were released back into the lake.

Janet runs the Facebook group Canyon Lake Bass Babes. She invites other lady anglers to the group who wish to share photos of their catches. She also shares photos of her catches on Instagram @zbassbabe.
