FMC to host free Craft Day, Western Barbecue

The Family Matters Club is hosting a Craft and Snack Day this Monday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Sunset Beach Room at the lodge. This free activity will feature a make and take home summer fish kite craft. To RSVP, contact Wendy Duran at 760-888-7512 or visit the club’s Facebook page.

Two-step on down to Holiday Harbor Park for the Family Matters Club 2nd annual Western Barbecue on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 3 to 6 p.m.

The fun-filled western-themed afternoon will feature contests, face painting, petting zoo, country music, dance demonstrations and lessons, pony rides, mechanical bull rides and vendors. Wristbands are $5 per child and include access to unlimited games, crafts, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo and mechanical bull rides.

The club is pre-selling tickets for a catered barbecue lunch. Vendor spaces are available for $40 per space. For lunch and vendor information, email clfmclub@aol.com.

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and raise funds for philanthropic donations. Events are free or low-cost to attend.
