Summer Taco Tuesdays at lodge end next week

Taco Tuesdays, an iconic Canyon Lake event that symbolizes summer fun in the community, comes to an end this Tuesday, Aug. 7. The weekly gathering allows residents to enjoy the beauty of the lake, the camaraderie of being with friends and neighbors, a place for children to burn off energy and young adults to show off their sand volleyball skills, and a satisfying selection of inexpensive food choices, drinks and snacks.

This week’s Taco Tuesday featured a Kona Ice truck and a performance by the band The Extrangers

Taco Tuesday runs from 5 to 8 p.m. and offers combo plates and a la carte items. The indoor bar offers fountain and adult drinks. The Lighthouse Restaurant is closed during Taco Tuesdays, the bar is open with seating in the lounge area.

Music is provided by local DJ Mike Shroyer of Good Time Entertainment. Mike has been providing music at Taco Tuesdays since 1995 and has become as much a part of Taco Tuesdays as the tacos.

Taco Tuesday is followed by the last party of the summer: Maui Monday. This POA sponsored event is typically held on Labor Day at Sunset Beach and features tropical food from the Lighthouse Restaurant, a kids zone and music. Once the sun goes down, Polynesian dance performances take place on the beach. There will be hula dancers, Samoan drummers and the ever popular fire dance.
