In Memoriam

Julia Barnes.
Nov, 25, 1936 – Apr. 29, 2018

Julia Barnes passed peacefully into eternal life on Apr. 29, 2018, at the age of 81. Born Nov. 25, 1936, in Trinidad, West Indies, she moved to New York and attended high school.

Julia was a caretaker to the elderly most of her life. She ran Julia’s Family Home in Canyon Lake for many years and had cared for over 50 elderly clients (family members) in her home. Prior to moving to Canyon Lake, she and her husband raised their three daughters in Huntington Beach and still found time to be very active in her church and care for the elderly. Her family, helping others and caring for her elderly patients was truly her life’s purpose.

She was a partner, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. All who knew Julia were touched by her life. In 2004, after retirement, Julia and her partner of 42 years, James Logan, moved to Sun City, CA. She was a loving person and devoted mother with an unwavering faith in God.

Julia is survived by her partner of 42 years, James Logan, and her three daughters, Deborah Quantock and husband Gary, Carol Barnes and Sherri Barnes. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jenel Getz, Crystal Quantock, Cullen Quantock, Caitlin Quantock, Cassie Quantock, Rachel Rudolph and Ryan Hotchkiss and wife Courtney. She had four great-grandchildren, Julia Quantock, Justice Getz, Brooke and Holly Hotchkiss.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 27931 Murrieta Road, Sun City, California.
