CLCT to present ‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’

Canyon Lake Community Theatre will bring Charles Schulz’s beloved comic to life in Clark Gesner’s classic musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown July 27 through July 29 in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge.

The gang is all here: bossy Lucy, talented Schroeder, Sally who is mocking Linus and his blanket, Snoopy and his doghouse and the “blockhead” himself Charlie Brown.

All of these characters and more will be played by the talented children and teens from Canyon Lake and surrounding communities.

The adventures of the “Peanuts” gang span the months from Valentine’s Day to Beethoven Day in the form of brief vignettes from Charlie’s hope of getting a Valentine, flying with the Red Baron and finding “Happiness,” You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a crowd-pleasing classic.

This musical will feature classic songs like Snoopy’s Suppertime, as well as updated new scores. Attendees will hear about Sally’s new “Philosophy” and how Schroeder celebrates “Beethoven Day.”

Showtimes are 7 p.m. on July 27, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on July 28 and 3 p.m. on July 29..

VIP tickets are $18. General Admission tickets are $15, $12 for seniors and students and $10 for children under the age of five.

The show is being produced by Heather Gotoski and Arlette Frederick, directed by Leslie Veccione and choreographed by Stephanie Vecchione. The vocal director is Maccena Diegelman.

In 2018, CLCT celebrated 27 years of producing performing arts and stage entertainment. CLCT has entertained thousands of families and friends from Canyon Lake and surrounding communities with its dinner theaters in the spring, children’s plays in the summer and large-scale musical productions in the fall.

CLCT is seeking donations items that can be used for raffle baskets, cast parties and at its concession stand during the show. Donations are tax deductible.
