Woman’s Club announces new board members

The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club inducted it 2018/2019 board at its June meeting. The new members and their positions are as follows:

President: Bonnie Wade; Programs: Shawna Bowen and Alexis Prince; Membership: Daryl France and Tammy Revard; Ways and Means: Jan May and Vicki Young; Philanthropy: Terri Ireland; Secretary: Cindy Jacobs; Treasurer: Karen Wallace; Publicity: Marlene Cathro; Newsletter: Valerie Reeves and Parliamentarian: Rose Marie Hand.

The new board members will take their positions on the board in September when monthly meetings resume. There are no club meetings in July and August.

The Woman’s Club is a non-profit, non-partisan, philanthropic service organization. The club is dedicated to the enrichment of Canyon Lake and helping others less fortunate. Its mission is to provide a safe gathering place for women of Canyon Lake to raise funds to help those in need, both individuals and other charities, and to provide scholarships to local students for the continuation of their education after high school.

The Woman’s Club was founded in 1972 with 92 members. Today, its membership has grown to more than 200.

The club hosts a number of community events to help raise money for their philanthropic endeavors. They include the annual Home Tour, Fashion Show and Mermaid Festival, to name a few.

Annual club membership is $20. Monthly meetings are held on third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Vendor hour is from 9 to 10 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m. Lunch is $14.
