Construction starts on Marine Patrol Building

Construction has started on a new permanent Marine Patrol building at the Holiday Harbor Park launch area. When the Campground Renovation Project began in January, the Marine Patrol office, which is a leased trailer, was moved from Happy Camp to Holiday Harbor with future plans of building a permanent Marine Patrol building.

At the Regular Session Board Meeting on Mar. 6, the board approved funding for a 10 feet by 16 feet permanent building in the amount of $31,594 plus 5 percent contingency from the Capital Improvement Fund. The fiscal impact includes $18,292 for a tile roof, windows, doors, stucco sides, electrical, drywall, insulation, railing and finish work, $5,843 for grading work, concrete and retaining walls and $7,459 for steel stairs to parking lot and concrete steps to the building, for a total of $31,594.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of summer.
