Anderson entertains crowd with playful stories, hit songs

Gifted country artist and songwriter Keith Anderson performed a 90-minute acoustic show to an enthusiastic crowd in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge on Saturday evening. The concert is part of the POA’s “Concert at the Lodge” series.

Keith kicked off the night with “Podunk” and closed with his most well known debut hit single “Pickin Wildflowers.” In between, he entertained the audience with playful stories about many of his songs. The audience quickly learned that Keith has a sense of humor. His song list included, “XXL” “Every Time I Hear Your Name”, “I Still Miss You” and “Lost in the Moment,” a song he co-wrote with Big & Rich’s John Rich.

Keith arrived in town on Friday and spent the day cruising Canyon Lake with concert promoter and resident Doug Schultz. Keith talked about his time in Canyon Lake during his show and stated that he’d like to move to Canyon Lake.

Opening the show was Texas-born country pop artist Steven Cade. A two-year-old nearly stole the show when Steven pulled her up on stage during his performance. The tot in the pink hat and cowboy boots was not shy when it came to strumming Steven’s guitar or performing in front of the audience.

After the show, both artists greeted concert-goers, signed autographs and posed for photos during a Meet and Greet.

On Sept 15, new wave band Berlin returns to Canyon Lake for the POA’s final 2018 concert. Berlin’s performance will be a mix of the band’s 80s classics peppered with tracks from their latest release. Due to the popularity of Berlin’s 2017 concert at the lodge, this show is expected to sell out. The POA recommends concertgoers purchase their tickets early. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the POA website at canyonlakepoa.com or at the POA office. The POA does not accept cash.
