Summer Reading Program has officially started

The Library’s Summer Reading Program, “Reading Takes You Everywhere,” began June 4. This year, children are logging their time reading instead of books read. Prizes are earned after every two hours and thirty minutes (30 minutes a day for five days) of reading. Prize awards begin on June 18 and continue until July 27 when the final drawings for extra reading prizes are drawn.  Adults are encouraged to participate.  Overall, the program serves more than 400 area adults and children offering incentives to improve the possibility of choosing reading as a summer activity option.

The Wild West Science Tellers will be at the library on June 20 at 3:30 p.m. The Kids Reptile Party returns to the library on June 25.

Programs continuing through the summer include Roots to Grow Tutoring on Saturday at 10 a.m., Toddler Story Time on Mondays at 11 a.m. and the Adult Book Club on the last Monday of the month at 4 p.m.
