Happy Camp July 4th lottery starts next week

Canyon Lake’s Happy Camp is one of the best viewing points to watch the spectacular 4th of July fireworks show. It’s just yards away from Skipper’s Island where the fireworks are launched, so it’s a fun destination for Canyon Lakers and their guests to enjoy without leaving the gates.

Due to its popularity and high demand, there will be a lottery at the newly renovated campground to give residents an equal opportunity to win a campsite.

Lottery registrations will be taken at Happy Camp from Saturday, June 9 through Friday, June 15. The lottery will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 9 a.m. Only one lottery entry will be allowed per tract-lot. Residents must be present at the lottery and be in good standing with the POA for a chance to win.

There is a three-day minimum reservation required and reservations are not site specific. Winners must present a valid POA card. Upon being issued a reservation for the holiday weekend, a $30 non-refundable deposit is required.

Happy Camp holiday rates are $57 for water-front sites with full hookups, $52 for off-water sites with full hookups and $47 for off-water sites with electric and water only.
