Military invited to Operation Appreciation

Canyon Lake resident Doug Schultz will serve as emcee at the 17th annual Armed Forces Day Operation Appreciation and invites all Canyon Lake military and their family members to attend this patriotic event sponsored by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held tomorrow, May, 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre.

Active duty military and their dependents who show an Active Duty Military ID Card will be treated to a free lunch and unlimited rides. The event is open to the public with food and rides available for purchase. Entertainment and military displays are free to everyone.

This event will feature a host of activities, including a children’s fun zone with carnival rides, rock climbing wall, inflatable jumpers and crafts and face painting. Live entertainment will be featured at the amphitheater all day long. Dance-rock party band Grand Sonic Theory will entertain guests and Satin Dollz will give a special tribute to the military.

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend this patriotic event sponsored by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce.

Doug has been involved with Operation Appreciation for the past 10 years. He helps coordinate the event, serves as emcee and books the live entertainment. In addition to his work with Operation Appreciation, Doug produces the POA’s “Concerts at the Lodge” concerts and is the concert manager for the Entercom San Diego radio stations.
