Group Two mailboxes to be installed May 21

The POA is in the process of replacing mailboxes at 96 physical locations throughout the community. Group One mailboxes were completed at the end of April. Group Two will begin on Monday, May 21, and is anticipated to be completed by Friday, May 25.

The following locations are part of Group Two:

  • 23914 Outrigger Drive by 23950 Outrigger Park (200 through 205)
  • 23592 Schooner Drive (212 through 214)
  • 23424 Schooner Drive (215 through 217)
  • 30235 Yellow Feather Drive across from Lions Park (228 through 232)
  • 30427 Channel Way (260 and 261)
  • 30164 Rim Rock Place (262 and 263)
  • 23130 Canyon Lake Drive North (181 and 182)
  • 23111 Canyon Lake Drive North (183 through 185)

USPS mail delivery will cease at Group Two locations starting Friday, May 18. Residents will need to retrieve mail from their existing mailboxes before this date. Mail will be held by USPS  at the Sun City Post Office until the new mailboxes are installed.

Once the mailboxes are installed, mail will resume and all “hold mail” will be delivered by the postal carrier to the new mailboxes. Normal mail delivery at these locations will resume on or before Friday, May 25.

Residents are encouraged sign up for the Informed Delivery service offered by USPS. This free service allows you to digitally preview your mail as it arrives. This service will email you greyscale images of the exterior, address side of letter-sized mail-pieces as well as track packages. To sign up for this free service, visit informeddelivery.usps.com.

Beginning Monday, May 21, Group Two may pick-up their new mailbox keys at the POA’s Operations office, 29081 Longhorn Dr., Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. New mailbox keys will only be provided to the homeowner, valid tenant, or property manager.  The individual must provide proper identification and complete a Mailbox Key Release Agreement.

At the POA’s February Regular Session Board Meeting, the board approved replacing the aging mailbox clusters with more secure and aesthetically pleasing units. The existing free-standing pedestal-style cluster mailbox units and parcel mailboxes will be replaced with front loading cluster mailbox units that combine both mailboxes and parcel boxes.  The new units are made of heavy duty aluminum with stainless steel hardware, making them more secure than the existing mailboxes.

The mailboxes will be replaced based on their condition, the worst being replaced first. The location of the mailboxes and individual box numbers will remain the same.
