Lions Club hosts Charity Golf Tournament

Eighty golfers participated in the Lions Club’s 28th annual Charity Golf Tournament on Mar. 29. The winners of the Longest Drive on hole 14 are Mary Burns, Kyle Dalke and Pro Josh Handerson. Closest to the Pin winners are Mary Burns on hole 8, Mike Macy on hole 17 and Pro Raj Samra on hole 11.

The winning Pro-Am foursome is Bob and Ellie Clow, Mary Burns and Pro Dave Shankland. The Scramble Tournament winner is John Scheurer’s foursome from Streamline Painting.

The Lions thank the 18 sponsors, golfers who participated in the tournament, those who donated items for the raffle and Pro Pat Kemball for providing 12 pro golfers to create the Pro-Am Tournament.

The funds raised from the tournament will be donated to Guide Dogs of the Desert, World Services for the Blind and other charities.

The Canyon Lake Lions Club was formed Jan. 23, 1975, and is part of the largest service organization in the world. The club meets monthly on the second Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Sunset Room at the lodge. For more information, contact LaRue McNamara at 951-244-6470.
