Club Rush is Sunday at Holiday Harbor Park

The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club is gearing up for its first Club Rush event on Sunday, Apr. 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. This is a free community event.

According to Family Matters Club Founder Shawna Bowen, the basic premise of Club Rush is for Canyon Lake clubs to get their name out to the community and for the community to see what the clubs have to offer.

Participating clubs include the Yacht Club, Woman’s Club, 9ers Golf Club, Emergency Preparedness, Cub Scout Pack 346, Men’s Golf Club, Triathlon and Fitness Club, Women’s Golf Club, Lions Club, Lioness Club, Car Club, Tennis Club, Pickleball Club, Ski Club, Fine Arts Guild, Choraleers and the Jr. Women’s Club.

“The community will be able to spend one-on-one time talking with club members and seeing which of these clubs they would be interested in joining,” said Shawna.

Each club will have something fun to see or do at their booth. Attendees will be given a passport to travel around to each booth to collect stamps. Once completed, the passport can be turned in for a chance to win a grand prize basket with items and gift certificates donated by the clubs.

This event will also feature a bounce house, face painting and crafts. The Family Matters Club has organized games to be played between the clubs, with the winners receiving trophies. “They can take their turns at basketball, soccer and baseball, to name a few,” said Shawna. “The community is welcome to take a swing at the fun games as well.”

In addition to the clubs, there will be some Canyon Lake businesses in attendance, offering shopping and discounts.

The snack bar will be selling snacks ranging from nachos to cotton candy.

“The Family Matters Club is excited to bring this event to the community so it can see the best of what Canyon Lake has to offer,” said Shawna. “So come on out, join a club, get involved.”
