Travel Club

The Travel Club invites all Canyon Lake residents to join in on exciting travel adventures and club parties. Annual membership is $10 per person. The group will travel by motor coach to Las Vegas for a three-night stay at the newly refurbished Golden Nugget May 6 through May 9. The cost is $380 per person and includes a dinner, show and brunch.

On Monday, June 4, the group will travel by deluxe motor coach to the Santa Monica Pier for lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and then to the Getty Villa Malibu. Bus departs at 9 a.m. at the lodge and returns at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $84 per member; $89 per non-member. The reservation deadline is May 15.

Water Ski Club

The Ski Club is comprised of water skiers of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. The club hosts several ski competitions and community events, including Breakfast with Santa, Polar Bear Day, Learn to Ski Day and the Fiesta Day Ski Show. The club was formed in 1970 and is the largest 3-event USA Water Ski sanctioned club in the United States. Mexican Train Players

Mexican Train Players meet Fridays at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the senior center. Beginners are welcomed. For more information, call Marlys Shilling at 951-244-4241.

Pinochle Club

Lioness Club

The Lioness Club meets monthly on the third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone who would like to attend a meeting should call Mary Craton at 915-244-7859.

Wakeboard Club

The Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club caters to everyone from beginner to the most advanced rider. The club promotes the sport by hosting tournaments and sponsoring Learn to Ride Day events. For more information, visit the club’s website at canyonlakewake.com.

Twirlers Square Dance Club

Dances are held every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and once a month on the second Sunday from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the Kay Ceniceros Senior Center in Menifee. For more information, call Jackie Brown at 951-694-3650.

Kids Club

The Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session. Those who purchase a 10-class punch card will receive two classes free. Punch cards can be purchased in class. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Pool View Room at the lodge. Visit the club’s Facebook page for more information.

Men’s Softball

The Canyon Lake Men’s Softball League is for players 18 years of age and older. League fees are $450 per team, per season. There are four seasons per year. Games are played on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Gault Field. Each team plays one 60-minute game; one team plays a doubleheader. Tuesday Work Group

The Tuesday Work Group consists of more than 40 volunteers dedicated to mostly improving the golf course. TWG meets every Tuesday at 7 a.m. in the golf maintenance yard during the months of October through June. Committee Board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. in Magnolia Room at the country club. TWG is always looking for a helping hand. “We’ll have coffee and donuts waiting for you,” says a spokesperson. For more information, call David Nickel at 951-244-9827.

Home Owners Club

Organized in 1972, the club promotes and protects the best interest of Canyon Lake home and property owners. Sponsored community events include the Home Decorating Contest and Meet the Candidates. For more information, call LaRue McNamara at 951-244-6470.

Bible Fellowship Club

Monthly club meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Activity Building at East Port Park. Meetings are open to the community. The meetings open with prayer and praise music followed by exploring and diving into God’s word, the Holy Bible, refreshments and fellowship. For more information, call Steve Martin at 951-757-6146.

Pickleball Club

The Pickleball Club welcomes beginners and regular players for social play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. A Twilight Social Mixer is held for all players once a month on the third Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m.  The club also hosts social play days and nights for women. ShowCal Skiers

ShowCal Skiers is a sanctioned club and California’s first and only show ski club. Skills training is taught for all aspects of the ski show, including audio/visual, announcing/hosting, drivers/power team, safety coordinators and equipment.

Ski disciplines include two skis, slalom, barefoot, trick, shoe ski, swivel, ballet, jump, doubles, trios, adagio, human pyramids, ATB, kneeboard, disc, wakeboard, wakeskate, foil, free-style and hot dogging. Members incorporate all types of performance artistry in their water-ski shows. CLAWS

All Canyon Lake women are invited to attend the Canyon Lake Association of Women (CLAWS) group bunco at 3 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Roadrunners RV Club

Any resident who owns an RV is welcome to join the club. Monthly dinner meetings are held on the second Tuesday at the lodge during winter months and at Roadrunner Park during the summer months. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 6 p.m. In addition to monthly dinner meetings, the club takes six to eight trips per year. More than 125 members belong to the club. Lions Club

The Lions club meets monthly on the second Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Sunset Room at the lodge. The club was formed January 23, 1975, and is part of the largest service organization in the world. Bosom Buddies

JWC

JWC is a non-profit philanthropic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarship programs, help local families in need and donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake.

Mommy N Me

Mommy N Me Club is for moms and their children ages one to five years old to meet up for local play dates in and around the community. The group meets every other Friday from Feb. 9 to May 18 to enjoy a variety of local toddler/preschool age activities. Registration is $70 per child starting at age 1; $60 per additional sibling. Choraleers

The Choraleers is a vocal group of men and women who enjoy singing in a choral group that performs spring and fall concerts, including combinations of selected singers and solo performances. Membership includes more than 35 members as well as a director and pianist. Membership is open to residents and those in nearby communities. Triathlon and Fitness Club

The Triathlon and Fitness Club promotes healthy lifestyles through swimming, cycling, running and other cross-training activities. The club hosts the Tour de Canyon Lake and Paddle & Pedal Regatta events. Annual club dues are $30 for individuals and $40 for families. Car Club

The Car Club holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcomed. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Family Matters Club

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and raise funds for philanthropic donations. Events are free or low-cost to attend. Tennis Club

The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for social play on Mondays and Fridays at 9 a.m. Social play is a free activity open to all levels of players and is a great way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. Cub Scouts

Community Theatre

The purpose of the Canyon Lake Community Theatre is to provide the community with access to the performing arts by providing a platform and showcase for local talent. The club engages and entertains the community by providing theatre experience for all ages, from all youth productions to its musicals under the stars. Street Carts of Canyon Lake

The Street Carts of Canyon Lake is a golf cart club that holds community events to raise funds for its charitable work. The club hosts the annual Golf Cart Parade, community Poker Run and Golf Cart Drive-in Movie Night. Club membership is $25 for a lifetime membership. Yacht Club

Yacht Club meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge; cocktail hour is 5 p.m., dinner is 6 p.m., meeting begins at 7 p.m. Dinner is $15. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership. Annual membership is $15. Members enjoy fun events throughout the year, including the Moonlight Cruise, Progressive Dinner and Parade of Lights. Woman’s Club

The Woman’s Club meets monthly on the third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Vendor hour is from 9 to 10 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m. Lunch is $14. Family Matters Club

The Family Matters Club is hosting Club Rush on Sunday, Apr. 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. Club Rush provides the opportunity for the community to learn about dozens of clubs and businesses in the community all at one place.

Each participating club and business will have a booth representing what they offer. Community members who attend will be given a passport to travel around to each booth to collect stamps. Each booth will have something fun for the community members to do. Once completed, the passport can be turned in for a chance to win a grand prize basket.

CLAA

The Canyon Lake Art Association meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the senior center. For more information, visit canyonlakeartassociation.com.

CLAMS

The Canyon Lake Association of Men Fundraiser Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, Apr. 28, with a Shotgun start at 12 p.m. Check-in is 10:30 a.m. Entry fee is $50 for Canyon Lake golf club members; $90 for guests. Fees include golf and cart, dinner, awards, golf hat and towel, participation gift and more. Dinner only is $25. The format will be a Four Player Scramble with prizes for the winning team. Contests include Longest Drive, Longest Putt and Closest to the Pin. There will be two Hole in One’s worth $10,000 cash. Entry forms will be available at the Golf Pro Shop at the country club. Participants do not need to be a member of the CLAMS to golf in the tournament. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Chair Volleyball

The Senior Chair Volleyball Club is for seniors 50 years of age and older. The club promotes fitness fun and the spirit of competition through the organized playing of chair volleyball. The game is played using a beach ball and a 5 ft. net while players are seated. The club participates in the Senior Olympics. Members meet weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Competitive play starts at 8 p.m.; regular play starts at 9:30 a.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Bassmasters Club

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Monthly tournaments are held on the first Saturday of each month.
