Woman’s Club hosts New Member Luncheon

The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club welcomed its new members with a Valentine’s theme New Member Luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Treasure Island clubhouse. The lunch, hosted by members of the board, provided the opportunity for new members to get to know each other and learn more about the club, its events and the volunteer opportunities it offers. Since March 2017, 31 new members have joined the club.

The club’s next event is a Cooking Class fundraiser tomorrow, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the senior center. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased by contacting Rose Marie Hand at 951-212-1946 or Jan May at 951-970-8333.

The Woman’s Club is dedicated to the enrichment of Canyon Lake and helping others less fortunate. Its mission is to provide a safe gathering place for the women of Canyon Lake, to raise funds to help those in need, both individuals and other charities, and to provide scholarships to local students for the continuation of their education after high school. Its membership is made up of more than 200 women ranging from ages 18 to 95.

The club meets monthly on the third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Vendor hour is from 9 to 10 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m. Lunch is $14. To attend a meeting, contact Vicki Young at 951-733-3673 or email Karen Wallace at canyonlakewomansclub@gmail.com.
