The Canyon Lake Golf Course winter hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Daily rates are $39. Golfers are reminded that all players must check-in and pay at the Golf Pro Shop at all times when playing on the course. To make a tee time reservation, call the Pro Shop at 951-246-1782. Reservations may be made seven days in advance. Annual golf memberships are available to both residents and non-residents. For more information, visit the country club website at canyonlakecc.com.

9ers Golf Club

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. Ladies who are interested in playing golf and making new friends are invited to play; all levels of golfers are welcome. The club meets at 8:30 a.m. on Thursdays in the Magnolia Room at the country club and tee off at 9 a.m. For more information, contact Linda Kielty at 951-746-2250.

Women’s Golf Club

The Women’s Golf Club is a member of Southern California Golf Association. The club meets on Tuesdays in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Players must check in before 7:30 a.m.; start time is 8 a.m. Major tournaments include the President’s Cup, Club Championship and Senior Tournament. Men’s Golf Club

Members of the Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club meet for play every Wednesday morning. Signups are taken between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. In addition to Wednesday games, the club sponsors eight major tournaments throughout the year. Dues include membership in the Southern California Golf Association. Canyon Lake residents and property owners age 18 and older are eligible. The club has added a Junior Membership Division for males under the age of 18. After Lunch Bunch

The After Lunch Bunch is mourning the loss of one of our longtime regulars, Lee Lilly, who passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3.  Lee seldom missed a Friday After Lunch Bunch game in the thirty plus years that he lived in Canyon Lake. A Celebration of Life with be hel for Lee on Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. at the country club.

The format of last Friday’s game was Two Best Balls of the Foursome and counting 3 on the par 5s. The results are as follows:

  • 1st place: Andy Quinn, Bill Hallahan, Pete Mortensen ane Ed Doidge, 139.
  • 2nd place: Bob Stinson, Jeff Roach, Dennis Franks and Joe Washle, 140.
  • 3rd place: Thom Merry, Clive Taylor, Jim Musser and Harry Larson, 142.

There were six winners in the Skins game: Bob Tallaksen on hole 1, Jeff Roach on hole 2, Dennis Franks on holes 9 and 18 and Pete Mortensen on hole 15 and 16.

Next week’s format will be Partners Best Ball with players picking their own foursome. The course record for this game is 54, set on Mar. 17, 2017, by the team of Joe Washle and Nick Valencia.

Now in its 38th year, the After Lunch Bunch offers a friendly game of golf every Friday throughout the year. The group plays an 18-hole tournament. Entries are open to all male golfers with an established handicap. The entry fee is $5 with an optional 25 maximum Skins game. Tee time is 10 a.m. with signups taken between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club or by phone at 951- 249-4565 or 951-237-6102.

Family Golf Club

The Family Golf Club promotes the sport of golf bringing together men, women and juniors in an atmosphere of education, camaraderie, fairness and competition in a friendly family oriented environment. The club hosts beginner and youth clinics, tournaments and social events throughout the year. The club’s official golf day is Wednesday at approximately 11:30 a.m. Some members schedule golf days on Mondays, Fridays or Saturdays at 11:30 a.m.

Adult Golf Lessons

The golf professional staff offers adult golf lessons seven days a week. Lessons are $35 for a 30-minute lesson; $50 for a one-hour lesson; $135 for three one-hour lessons and $200 for five one-hour lessons. Reservations are required. Junior Golf Lessons

Junior golf lessons are available for children ages seven to 17. Lessons are $25 per half hour. Reservations are taken at the Golf Pro Shop.

Golf Pro Shop

The Golf Pro Shop at the country club features the latest in golf clubs from Ping, Mizuno, Callaway and Titleist. It also stocks Nike, EP Pro, Antigua and Foot Joy golf apparel. Canyon Lake Property Owner’s Association members receive a 20 percent discount on women’s and men’s apparel.
