CLAPPS host installation dinner, inducts Bill Levis

The Canyon Lake Association of Past Presidents (CLAPPS), an organization composed of past presidents of the Canon Lake Men’s Golf Club, held its annual installation dinner Feb. 1 at the lodge. Bill Levis, the 2017 Men’s Golf Club President, was honored with the presentation of the “White Jacket” and welcomed to the fraternity of the CLAPPS.

The evening had a solemn moment when the group bowed their heads in silence in memory of member Lee Lilly. The 93-year-old CLAPPS member passed away on the morning of Jan. 27.

The CLAPPS have a long history of serving the golf community in Canyon Lake in many ways. They advise and mentor the sitting Men’s Golf Club Board of Directors, recruit candidates and oversee the election of officers for
the Men’s Golf Club, work closely with the Tuesday Work Group on projects
and raise funds for improvements on the golf course.

The next CLAPPS project is the installation of a $12,000 post clock on the golf course.
