Woman’s Club hosts Paint and Sip fundraiser

The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club held its Paint and Sip fundraiser on Monday, Jan. 15 at Treasure Island. Attendees enjoyed appetizers, wine and dessert while creating a painting they could take home. Each ticket included an entry into the Fashion Show grand prize opportunity drawing with $2,500 in cash prizes. The drawing will be held at the annual Fashion Show on Friday, Apr. 27 at the lodge.

Tickets to the Sensational 70s theme Fashion Show are $45 and go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 21. The Woman’s Club will host three pre-parties leading up to the Fashion Show: Disco Fever on Mar. 8, I Dream of Jeannie on Mar. 22 and The Love Boat on Apr. 19.

The club’s next event is its 2nd annual Cooking Class on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the senior center. Watch live as chefs Alise Lawrence and J.C. Tayor, assisted by Royal Bash Catering Manager Heidi Rodriguez, prepare tastings.

This year marks the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club 46th anniversary. The non-profit, non-partisan philanthropic club was founded in 1972 and is one of the oldest and most active clubs in Canyon Lake. Its membership is made up of more than 200 women ages 18 to 95.

The club is dedicated to the enrichment of Canyon Lake and helping others less fortunate. Its mission is to provide a safe gathering place for the women of Canyon Lake, to raise funds to help those in need, both individuals and other charities, and to provide scholarships to local students for the continuation of their education after high school.

The Woman’s Club meets monthly on the third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Vendor hour is from 9 to 10 a.m.; meeting begins at 10 a.m. Lunch is $14.
